Tim McPherson and Paul Stenning from Natural Balance We were doing tree work on tall radiata pine, 130 foot high with a heavy lean, base was about 4 foot round. Gave it a scarf with the stihl 066 of only 6 inches as the front was very square with pressure wood. We were about to prepare to do a bore backcut (to avoid barbers chair) when the ground started to shake and the tree started making cracking sounds-I raced for my camera and got the footage.
